Hokies dominate Bonnies
    Tech moves to 2-0 with 7-0 victory

    BLACKSBURG, Va. - The No. 35 Virginia Tech men's tennis team improved its record to 2-0 on the year with a dominating 7-0 victory over St. Bonaventure in the Larsen Bowker Shootout at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center Saturday evening.

    Tech swept the doubles competition to earn the first point of the match. Nicolas Delgado de Robles and Pedro Graber downed Bonnies' Jonathan Luce and Victor Lecina, 8-2, in No. 1 doubles, before Tech's Sebastien Jacques and Yoann Re teamed to beat Enric Larregola and Mikhail Sudakov, 8-4, in the No. 3 spot for the Hokies' first point. Albert Larregola and Brandon Corace also won for Tech, taking an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles over St. Bonaventure's Leo Mochizuki and Chris Post.

    In singles, Jacques swept Bonnies' Diego Valdenegro, 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 4 spot. Corace then beat Post 6-4, 6-0, at No. 5 singles, before Larregola beat Mochizuki 6-0, 6-1, at the No. 1 spot to clinch the match for the Hokies.

    Tech's Alexandre Labrosse also won in No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-2, over Enric Larregola; Delgado de Robles beat Luce 6-2, 6-0, in the No. 2 spot; and Yoann Re beat Lecina 6-4, 6-2, in the No. 3 spot.

    Tech will take on UMBC to conclude its portion of the tournament later this evening.
