BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech men's tennis team dropped its' first ACC match of the year, 7-0, to No. 1 Virginia Wednesday afternoon at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on the Virginia Tech campus. The Cavaliers improve to 17-0, 3-0, while the Hokies fall to 9-3, 2-1.

Tech, ranked No. 37 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association national poll, lost the three doubles matches to drop the first point of the day before being swept in the six single matches.

In singles, Albert Larregola (Sr., Lleida, Spain), ranked No. 55 nationally, lost 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 to top-ranked Somdev Devvarman while Nicolas Delgado de Robles (Jr., Madrid, Spain) fell 6-4, 6-7 (2), 1-0 (7), in the No. 2 match versus No. 28 Treat Huey. Yoann Re (So., Verdun, Quebec, Canada) lost 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 against No. 5 Dominic Inglot at No. 3 and Sebastien Jacques (Fr., Magog, Quebec, Canada) dropped his No. 4 contest, 6-2, 7-5, to No. 97 Sanam Singh. In the other two singles matches, Brandon Corace (Jr., Naples, Fla.) lost 6-3, 6-1, at No. 5 against Teddy Angelinos and Alexandre Labrosse (r-So., Repentigny, Quebec, Canada) dropped the No. 6 match, 6-0, 6-2, to No. 125 Houston Barrick.

In doubles, Devvarman/Huey, ranked No. 1 in the nation, won 8-2 at No. 1 over Delgado de Robles/Larregola while Barrick/Inglot, ranked No. 26, edged Jacques/Re, 8-6 in the No. 2 contest. The Cavaliers completed the doubles sweep with a 8-6 win at No. 3 by the 38^th-ranked team of Michael Shabaz/Singh over Corace/Labrosse.

The Hokies will be on the road this week for key ACC matches at No. 61 Clemson (Fri., 2:30 p.m.) and at No. 41 Georgia Tech (Sat., 2:30 p.m.).
