Virginia Tech baseball to shave heads for cancer research
Sept. 20 event in support of "46 Mommas Shave for the Brave"
August 26, 2010

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virgina Tech baseball team, in conjunction with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and “46 Mommas Shave for the Brave,” will shave their heads in support of childhood cancer research on Sept. 20 at English Field on the Virginia Tech campus. The event will start at 7 p.m.

Everyday, 46 parents in the United States are told their child has cancer. Melina Brown became one of these 46 parents six years ago when her son Levi was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a high risk cancer. Melina and Levi have become a special part of the Virginia Tech baseball family in recent years and the event is a way for the team to show their appreciation and to increase awareness of the disease.

Everyone is invited to come out to English Field on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m., to join in the fight against childhood cancer.
