Men’s Tennis

The Hokies will open the home spring slate with a doubleheader on Friday, Jan. 19. Tech will face Liberty at 11 a.m. before taking on the Aggies at 3 p.m. at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. Mitch Harper claimed a trio of ranked wins last weekend at the Hokies spring opener. [Full Preview]

Men’s Basketball
Jan. 20 | Blacksburg, Va.
Noon – Florida State

Virginia Tech will host Florida State on Saturday in a noon game at Cassell Coliseum. Ahmed Hill leads the Hokies with 15.3 points per game while Kerry Blackshear Jr. is adding 13.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. The Seminoles are just outside the top-25, receiving votes in both the AP and Coaches’ polls.

Track & Field
Jan. 19-20 | All Day
Gladstein Invitational (Bloomington, Ind.)
Clemson Invitational (Clemson, S.C.)
Keydet Invitational (Lexington, Va.)

No. 8 Track and field will split up for its three meets this weekend, as the sprinters will head south to the Clemson Invitational (Clemson), the jumpers and pole vaulters will make the trek up north to the Gladstein Invitational (Indiana) and the distance group will go to the Keydet Invitational (VMI). Tech is coming off six first-place finishes at the Nittany Lion Challenge (Penn State) opening weekend for the indoor season. [Full Preview]

Jan. 20 | Columbus, Ohio
Noon – Ohio State, Michigan & Rutgers (women)

No. 24/19 Virginia Tech travels to Ohio for a pair of meets and will face top-25 foes No. 11/16 Ohio State and No. 2/7 Michigan. The Hokies are coming off split results last weekend with the men’s team defeating Virginia 218-133. Tech claimed 3-of-4 ACC weekly honors as Ian Ho won swimmer of the week while Ashlynn Peters and Jack Gigliotti earned diving honors. [Full Preview]

Jan. 21 | Pittsburgh, Pa.
2 p.m. – Pitt

No. 10 Tech takes to the road for a pair of matches in Pennsylvania. The Hokies take on Edinboro followed by an ACC bout at Pitt. Tech is set to face three ranked individuals during the weekend. No. 14 Dennis Gustafson will square off against a pair of ranked opponents at 133, facing Edinboro’s 18th-ranked Korbin Myers and Pitt’s No. 11 Dom Forys. Andrew Dunn, ranked 18th, will go against No. 16 Ryan Solomon of Pitt. [Full Preview]

Women’s Basketball
Jan. 21 | Charlottesville, Va.
12:30 p.m. – Virginia

Tech will make the trip to face rival Virginia on Sunday. The Hokies are being led this season by Taylor Emery with 16 points per game. Regan Magarity is adding 15.1 points and 9.2 rebounds per game while Chanette Hicks is chipping in 12.4 points, 6.6 assists and 3.4 steals per game. The Hoos are receiving votes in the coaches poll with a 12-7 overall record and have opened ACC play at 5-1 with a loss to No. 15 Duke.
