Florida State staff in Blacksburg

In what certainly indicates that times have changed at Virginia Tech, four members of the Florida State football coaching staff have spent the past two days in Blacksburg getting ideas and information from Tech's staff. One of the members was a Bowden, though not FSU head coach Bobby Bowden. Instead, receivers coach Jeff Bowden, the son of the legendary coach, made the trip along with three others.

The Florida State contingent spent most of the day Wednesday and plans on spending the majority of the day Thursday talking with Tech offensive coordinator Rickey Bustle and the rest of Tech's offensive staff. The Seminoles' staff came to Tech to look at the Hokies' goal-line and red zone offenses. In return, they plan on sharing some ideas with Tech's staff on their three-receiver offenses.

Florida State defeated the Hokies in the 2000 Sugar Bowl to win the national championship. Last season, the Seminoles lost to Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, enabling the Sooners to win the title.
