Lettered three times at James River High School for Coach John Shotwell ... Played one season at Allegheny High before transferring to JRHS ... Led team to consecutive state titles ... Had 47 career wins, over 900 strikeouts and 23 no-hitters ... A two-time first-team all-state selection ... Went 22-2 her senior season, earning state co-pitcher of the year honors from the Virginia High School Coaches Association ... Finished with 365 strikeouts on the year, third-best on the VHSL single-season list ... Threw 10 no-hitters as a senior and a state-record 17 consecutive shutouts ... Finished the 2004 season with a streak of 109 consecutive scoreless innings ... Struck out 365 in 154.2 innings that season, allowing just 22 hits and three earned runs in earning another state title ... Had an ERA of 0.14 her senior year ... Struck out 19 and allowed just one hit in the championship game as her team won a nine-inning contest, 1-0, over Page County ... Named MVP of the West squad in the VHSLCA All-Star Game after striking out nine in four scoreless innings, giving up a bunt hit ... Was the Gatorade State Group A Player of the Year as a junior after leading her team to a state title ... Was also the state player of the year, as voted on by the VHSCA ... Was 14-1 as a junior, striking out 225 while walking just nine in 101 innings ... Pitched nine-no-hitters that season, allowing just two earned runs all season ... Had an ERA of 0.13 ... Struck out 18 in James River's 2-1, nine-inning victory over Northumberland in the Group A championship game ... Struck out 23 batters in a 2-1, 13-inning victory over Patrick Henry in the 2002 Region C semifinals as a sophomore ... Is the first female from her high school to sign with a Division I program in any sport ... Was selected to play for the Salem All-Stars, a local team that played the U.S. Olympic Softball Team last summer ...
