No more than six spirit squad members can be requested per event. Spirit squad members will not be permitted to stay at any one event for longer than two hours. For internal Virginia Tech events as well as charitable non-profit events spirit squad member appearances are complementary. For any request other than the aforementioned organizations, regardless of the number of members being requested there will be an appearance fee of $100/hr. Requests for spirit squad members must be made at least 3 weeks prior to the event. Confirmation of a request will take place two weeks prior to the date of the event.
There is no guarantee that the HokieBird will be available on a given date or time. The completion of this form is merely a request and you can check back on the status of your request by entering your confirmation number at the top of this page. On football and basketball game dates the HokieBird is only available for on-campus appearances. The HokieBird does not make appearances on holidays. The HokieBird has a two-hour limit on appearances. For external events a HokieBird appearance is $200/hr plus travel expenses ($0.50/mile if the appearance is outside of Blacksburg). For internal Virginia Tech events as well as charitable non–profit events HokieBird appearances are $50/hr. Requests for the HokieBird must be made at least 3 weeks prior to the event. Confirmation of a request will take place two weeks prior to the date of the event.
