Responsibilities: As the senior director of visual and broadcast communications, Caligiuri oversees all operations related to Tech’s “HokieVision” unit, including the production of TV broadcasts, video scoreboard content and live webcasts on, the athletics department’s website, and ESPN. She manages and supervises up to 35 people at any one event.

At Virginia Tech: In November of 2014, Caligiuri was promoted to her current role from her previous role as a graphic artist and video producer for Hokievision, where she produced video and motion graphics for game-day entertainment in addition to coordinating and directing HokiesXtra and ESPN3 live web broadcasts across every sport and producing content for Caligiuri began her employment with Tech athletics as a student working closely with the football program shooting and editing practice and game film. Her position evolved to embrace her creative abilities through production and design for Hokievision. Her favorite yearly project is directing, shooting, and editing the “Enter Sandman” video for the football team’s entrance.

Prior to Virginia Tech: Caligiuri began her tenure with the video office during her freshman year in the spring of 2005. She spent her undergraduate career shooting and editing coaches video, producing highlight videos and feature pieces, and technical directing video board productions on football and basketball game days. She continued her time with Hokievision as a graduate student, and she was hired full time upon graduating in 2009. She also interned in the promotions department at Virgin Records in New York City and served as a campus marketing representative for Platform-1 Entertainment.

Education: Virginia Tech, Summa Cum Laude, 2008 (B.A. in print and electronic journalism); Virginia Tech, 2009 (M.S. in education). Currently working on a M.A. in instructional technology and design.

Personal: Caligiuri grew up in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and Florida, and while she is a beach girl, she considers the mountains of Virginia her home. In her free time, she enjoys painting, photography, hiking and traveling. She has been to 49 states and weekends away from work are spent traveling wherever the wind takes her, often to see her adorable nephews, Nicolo and Matteo, or on the hiking trails around the Appalachian Mountains.
