After a standout career as a player, Whitney Davis is in her second season on the staff as a volunteer assistant. Her work, both on the field and off, helped pave the way for a successfull 2012 campaign, one that saw the Hokies reach the NCAA Regional finals and also earned the coaching staff NFCA Northeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
A native of Tazewell, Va., Davis batted .318 in her final season and started 189 games for her career. She also had 24 doubles and had 49 RBI. She committed just two errors in 122 chances and had 10 outfield assists for her career.
Davis works mainly with the outfielders, and compiles scouting reports to go along with other various office duties. She graduated in May of 2011 with a degree in psychology from Tech and is currently employed at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine.
