Billi Godsey Assistant Coach
Women's Basketball

Billi Godsey begins her first season as an assistant coach with the Hokies.

Godsey has served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at UMBC since August 2008 after spending two seasons as an assistant at Molloy College in New York. The Retrievers were 20-12 last season, won the America East regular-season title and earned a berth in the WNIT.

“After speaking to many grass roots basketball people, Billi’s name kept coming up as a hard worker and rising star in the business which only added to the tremendous impression she made on me in the interview,” said Wolff.

Godsey helped guide Molloy to its first-ever East Coast Conference title and a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament in 2008. The Lady Lions posted a 34-26 overall record in her two seasons on the bench.

Godsey also has an administrative background, as well, as she also served as associate director of athletics, senior women’s administrator and compliance officer at Molloy and previously was an associate commissioner for operations and senior women’s administrator for the East Coast Conference, where she worked for two years.

A native of Cheverly, Md., who attended Archbishop Carroll High School, Godsey was a four-year letterwinner at Hofstra, where she played in 79 games and made 28 starts from 1999-2003. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Hofstra in psychology in May 2003 and a master’s degree in psychology from Adelphi University in November 2005.
