n October 2013, Austin Hartsook joined the Tech baseball staff as the Director of Operations and the 2015 season marks his second year with the team.
In his current role, Hartsook is responsible for all logistical and administrative duties for the program. He serves as the liaison between the program and multiple facets within the Athletics Department as well as assists the staff in camp coordination. Hartsook is also responsible for 19 Ways, the team’s community outreach program, and Baseball Night in Blacksburg.
While earning a Business Administration degree from the University of Oregon in 2013, Hartsook was a baseball undergrad assistant with the Ducks. His duties included managing all video and opponent scouting needs for the program as well as assisting with baseball operations duties at home and on the road.
While in Eugene, he also worked for the San Diego Padres for two seasons as a baseball operations intern. With the Padres, Hartsook was the liaison between the front office and its Single-A affiliate in Eugene, the Emeralds, and worked daily with the team, recording and charting games for the Padres to utilize.
