Former Hokie standout and current professional player Courtney Liddle is in her first year as the volunteer assistant at Virginia Tech. She will work with the team while pursuing her master’s degree at Tech.
A native of Haymarket, Va., Liddle was a three-time NFCA Mid-Atlantic Region selection (2011 & 13 - 1st team; 2012 - 2nd team) and three-time All-ACC selection (2011 & 12 - 1st team; 2013 - 2nd team). She finished her Tech career ranked first in career on base percentage (.467), first in career walks (146), first in career hit by pitch (26), second in career home runs (32), second in career slugging percentage (.559), tied for second in career RBIs (136), tied for fourth in career doubles (44), tied for fourth in career runs scored (129), fifth in career batting average (.320) and fifth in career total bases (337).
She was the 18th overall pick in the 2013 National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) College Draft by the NY/NJ Comets, where she played in the summer of 2013. She finished her rookie campaign tied for second on the team with five home runs with four doubles, 20 RBIs and 14 walks in 45 games.
Liddle graduated from Virginia Tech in 2013 with a degree in communication.
