Responsibilities: Nichols oversees all the equipment needs for Virginia Tech’s football program.

Joined VT Athletics Staff: 2015

Prior to Virginia Tech: Nichols spent four and a half years in the equipment room at Florida Atlantic University before coming to Tech. He worked for two years as an assistant director and then spent the final two and a half years as the director of equipment operations. He oversaw all equipment and apparel acquisition for FAU’s 21 sport programs, and he played a key role facilitating and maintaining the department’s relationship with Adidas.

Prior to FAU, Nichols was a graduate assistant equipment manager at Illinois State University for one year.

Education: North Carolina State University, 2010 (B.S. in Sport Management). Texas A&M University, 2015 (M.S. in Sport Management).

Of Note: Nichols earned Athletic Equipment Managers Association certification in June of 2010.

Personal: A native of Norwood, N.C., he currently resides in Blacksburg.
