The VT Athletics Office of Student-Athlete Development community outreach program encourages student-athletes to volunteer throughout their college experience. Each team is asked to partner with a local community organization and volunteers time at community-wide events. Along with large volunteer efforts, student-athletes show community support with visits to local hospitals, elementary and middles schools, the Montgomery County Christmas Store and various organization requests. Community organizations can request Tech student-athletes to attend local outreach events. Involvement in this program helps maintain and improve the positive relationship between student-athletes and the surrounding community.

Community Outreach Event Request Form
Please remember - Requests will only be accepted September 15th - April 15th and must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the date of your event. In an effort to respect the time constraints placed on our student-athletes, requests will be limited to two (2) per month and will be processed on a first come, first serve basis. Please be mindful of this when submitting your request. As a reminder, there are NCAA guidelines to which we must adhere. The Virginia Tech Athletics departmental policy limits participation in events located more than 30 miles from Blacksburg. Submitting a request does not guarantee that the request will be fulfilled.
Awarded to the top six student-athletes at each member institution for their dedication to community outreach.
