Ned Skinner to Participate in Youth Clinic

Swim coach selected for NCAA Youth Education through Sports event.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Virginia Tech swim coach Ned Skinner has been selected to participate in a youth clinic conducted by the NCAA at the University of Georgia March 14.

The clinic is part of the NCAA Youth Education through Sports (YES) program and is being conducted in conjunction with the 1999 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming Championships. The clinic will provide youth programming which focuses on participant development and the student-athlete mentoring program.

The program will feature the following other collegiate coaches: Joann Brislin, Dartmouth; K.C. Converse, United States Air Force Academy; Jerry Foley, Bucknell; Tim Hill, Arizona State; Randy Julian, Bowling Green; Garland O'Keeffe, St. Bonaventure; Jim Richardson, Michigan; Susan Teeter, Princeton; Carol Withus, Old Dominion; Ann Marie Wozniak, Georgia Southern.

Parents will have the opportunity to discuss, with clinic staff, issues regarding youth sports. Additional topics relative to recruiting and admission requirements for collegiate student-athletes will also be discussed.
