February 27, 2000

GLOUCESTER, N.J. -The Virginia Tech swimming and diving teams finished strong at the ECAC Championships with the men placing ninth and the women 13th despite taking just 11 athletes between the two teams.

Senior Karen Most concluded her career in style, winning two events. Most captured the 100 butterfly on Friday in 56.85 and then won the 200 butterfly on Saturday in 2:04.27.

Also on Saturday, Troy Hoff placed second in the 200 butterfly. His time of 1:47.91 would have been good enough for an ECAC and pool record, but Marcin Kaczmarek's time of 1:45.46 edged him out in the race.

On the diving side, senior Dana Nagle had a strong showing, finishing second in the three-meter and fourth in the one-meter diving events.
