Men's Swimming Lands Two
Virginia Natives To Enroll For 2002-03 School Year
November 27, 2001
BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech head swimming and diving coach Ned Skinner announced Tuesday the signing of two swimmers who will enroll at Tech for the 2002-03 school year. Matt Camden and Casey Moore, both Virginia natives, have signed National Letters of Intent, and could help out the men's swimming team immediately.
Camden, from Richmond, Va., has signed in the early decision with the H2okies. Camden is a distance freestyler who has trained with Poseidon swim club under Ted Salide for several years. He will add a tremendous amount of depth and consistency to the distance freestyle events and could make an impact in the BIG EAST Conference from the start. Camden will be graduating from Monacan High School in June, 2002.
Moore, who lives in Chesapeake, Va., also committed in the early period. He is a sprint freestyler from the Old Dominion Aquatic Club. Moore, who has only been swimming for a short time, could be a sleeper for the H2okies. He and has already proved to be a threat in the sprint events. The coaching staff is looking for Moore to provide speed and an immediate impact on the Tech relays. He will graduate from Great Bridge High School this June.
