GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Virginia Tech men’s swimming and diving team is fourth through three events at the 2018 ACC Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Tech finished fourth in the 800 free relay with a NCAA provisional time of 6:20.18 behind swims from Lane Stone, Norbert Szabo, Harrison Pierce and Hassler Carroll. It marks the second fastest time in program history, coming in just behind the record of 6:19.69 set in 2014.

Tech adds in last week’s men’s 3-meter diving scores. Top finishers for the Hokies were Thomas Shinholser in 11th and Ben Schiesl at 12th, scoring 16 and 15 points for the team, respectively.

The Hokies will be back in the pool on Thursday morning for the prelims of the 500 free, 200 IM and 50 free. Doors open at 9 a.m. with events beginning at 10.
