June 2, 2001

EUGENE, Ore. - Kristin Price earned All-America honors after finishing 10th place in the 5,000-meter run at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 2 in Eugene, Ore.

Price is now a two-time All-American after earning her first honor with a fourth place in the 3,000 at the Indoor NCAA Championships. Price ran her second fastest 5,000 ever, posting a 16:11.60 to finish just three seconds out of the scoring top eight. Stanford's Lauren Fleshman took the victory with a time of 15:52.21.

The race marks the end of the freshman's outstanding indoor and outdoor track season in which she set seven school records. Price became just the second female track athlete to earn All-America honors twice in the same track year.

Southern California won the women's title with 64 points, nine ahead of UCLA.
