Castlin, relay squads compete

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Virginia Tech women's sprint crew continued their competition at the Penn Relays on Friday and Saturday.

Kristi Castlin ran a 13.22 in the 100m hurdles to finish third in her heat and fourth overall on Friday. She took seventh in the championship race on Saturday in a time of 13.70.

Castlin joined Britni Spruill, Patrice Potts and Sherlenia Green in the 4x100m final on Friday, and they combined to finish fourth in the 'college' section final in a time of 45.32, improving on Thursday's prelim time of 45.85.

Also on Friday, the sprint medley team of Spruill, Green, Queen Harrison and Asia Washington finished 10th overall in a time of 3:57.28.

Finally, the 4x400m relay squad of Green, Washington, Harrison and Spruill won the 'college' division race on Saturday in a time of 3:38.91.
