Leading the No. 3 women's team, first-year thrower Dorotea Habazin won the hammer throw in her Hokie outdoor season debut with a 206'5" (62.92m) effort. Sophomore Erika Schroeder won the shot put with a 46'0" (14.02m) mark, and Brittany Pryor won the discus title with a mark of 159'8" (48.67m). All three athletes achieved marks that qualified for the NCAA East Regional Championships.
Representing the No. 27 men's squad, Justin Clickett took the shot put crown with a mark of 60'3.25" (18.37m) to qualify for the regional meet.
Ebenezer Amegashie finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.02 seconds. Cedric Hudson placed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 21'10"(6.65m) and claimed 11th place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.49 seconds.
The Hokies begin their next weekend of competition at the Duke Invitational on Friday.
