    Merryman Center Fitness and Rehab Room

    Purpose: The facility was originally designed in 1998 for use as a football training room and rehab area. In 2002 the facility was transformed into a student-athlete fitness facility that also serves as headquarters for our nutrition staff. In 2005 the facility was further remodeled to better serve our athletes with additional cardiovascular equipment and a new state-of-the-art audiovisual and sound system.

    Merryman Center Physician's Suite

    Purpose: The facility was originally designed in 1998 and dedicated for use as an area for our team physicians to examine and treat athletic related injuries and illnesses. In 2004 the facility was remolded to provide additional space for our Sport Psychologist, Primary Care Physicians, Sports Medicine Fellow and a Full Time Administrative Assistant.

    Eddie Ferrell Memorial Athletic Training Room

    Purpose: The facility was designed in 2002 for use as an all-sports athletic training room and rehab area. The facility was developed to incorporate 4 smaller training rooms into 1 main facility for all 21 varsity sports. The facility was named in honor of long time Head Athletic Trainer Eddie Ferrell. The facility captures the spirit, warmth and humor that "Eddie" displayed in his 25 plus years of experience caring for Virginia Tech Athletes.

    Rector Fieldhouse Training Room

    Purpose: The facility was remodeled in 2000 for use as a venue-specific athletic training room to serve our outdoor sports while participating in the Rector Fieldhouse. The facility is operational only during scheduled practices or meets.

    Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center Training Room

    Purpose: The facility was remodeled in 2005 for use as a venue-specific athletic training room to serve our Men's and Women's Varsity Tennis participants. This facility is only operational during scheduled practices and/or matches.

    Gordon Family Mobile Training Room

    Purpose: The mobile facility was originally envisioned in 2004 and became a reality in the Fall of 2006 thanks to a significant gift from the Charles Gordon family, Al Modena Family and Montgomery Regional Hospital. The facility enables our staff to set up mobile operations at venues such as Tennis, Cross Country and other tournament events off campus such as ACC Championships. The facility also helps to serve local EMS crews during home football games.
