What Vick Did
vs. East Carolina
The Hokies didn't need a big game from quarterback Michael Vick Thursday
night as the defense and special teams did in the Pirates, 45-28, in
Greenville, N.C.
Vick barely broke a sweat in the first half, but Tech still led 31-0 at the
break. The special teams blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown,
tackled the punter deep in ECU territory, returned a punt for a score and
blocked a field goal to ease the Hokies out to a big lead.
Vick finished the game with 106 yards passing and 13 yards rushing. He
laced a bullet into tight end Browning Wynn's chest for a 23-yard touchdown
and went 9 of 15 with no interceptions on the night.
Tech (2-0) returns to action on Saturday, taking on Rutgers at home in the
BIG EAST opener for both teams.
