Vick Listed As Top Heisman Candidate in Weekly Column
September 12, 2000
Virginia Tech's Michael Vick was rated as the top prospect in Dennis Dodd's
weekly "Heisman Watch" column, which runs on cbs.sportsline.com.
Vick has been ranked No. 1 each of the three weeks the column has been released.
This week, he is ahead of Michael Bennett of Wisconsin and Chris Weinke of
Florida State.
"Here's how impressive Frank Beamer is with his brilliant special teams: The
Hokies didn't need Vick in blasting East Carolina," Dodd said in this week's
column.
Following the Akron game, Dodd wrote, "Notice all those highlights over the
weekend? The most overlooked part of Vick's game is his ability to get the Hokies
on television. Their scores are on the crawl, their games are televised, the
highlights run from day until night. All Vick, all the time."
