What Vick Did
vs. Rutgers
Michael Vick played a little over a half Saturday against Rutgers, but it was more than
enough time to make an impact on the game as the Hokies shutout the Knights, 49-0, at Lane
Stadium.
For the second time in three games, Vick was the Hokies' leading rusher as he netted 104
yards on 11 carries. He had a 45-yard scramble that set up a touchdown and scored on an
8-yard run that ended with a flip much in the same manner as Vick's touchdown flip against
James Madison last season.
The redshirt sophomore was also on with his passing, throwing for 120 yards and a touchdown
on 10-of-18 passing. Vick lofted a perfect pass to Emmett Johnson in the back of the end
zone for a 17-yard touchdown.
With the game well in hand, Vick sat much of the second half as he has the first two games.
The No. 8 Hokies (3-0, 1-0 BIG EAST) have next week off before heading to Chesnut Hill,
Mass., for a game with Boston College on Sept. 30. The game will be at 3:30 p.m. and
will be telecast live on CBS.
