A Topeka, Kan., native, Gergen was a 2004 AVCA honorable mention All-American, first-team All-ACC honoree, academic all-district and earned AVCA East Region honors. She was named the team's Most Improved Player following the 2002 season and earned the Coaches Award after the 2003 season.
