Markowski named ACC Co-Player of the Week
Senior led team to 2-0 week to close out season

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Virginia Tech volleyball player Melissa Markowski (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) was named ACC Volleyball Co-Player of the Week after leading the Hokies to a pair of conference victories to close out the regular season.
Markowski shares the honor with North Carolina's Dani Nyenhuis.
Markowski, a senior and four-year starter at setter for Tech, recorded 51 assists and 18 digs in leading the Hokies to a 3-1 win over Clemson on Wednesday, Nov. 23. She also registered four block assists, three service aces and a pair of kills in the victory.
Against Georgia Tech on Thursday, Nov. 25, Markowski dished out 60 assists in leading the Hokies to a 3-1 win. She also contriubuted four digs, three block assists and a pair of kills in the match.
For the week, Markowski averaged 13.88 assists per game and 2.75 digs per game.
Markowski ended her career at Tech with a school-record 5,287 assists. This season, she had 1,355 assists, an average of 12.32 per game. She had 60 or more assists in five matches this season.
