Auburn, Ala. - Sophomore Sarah Muņoz collected 46 kills and 29 digs in three matches to be named to the Auburn/Mizuno Challenge All-Tournament Team.

Virginia Tech (3-3) dropped the final match of the tournament to Arizona State 27-30, 28-30, 27-30. Freshman Michelle Lang dished out 34 assists, despite accounting for 18 of the Hokies digs. She also led the team in hitting percentage with a .444 mark.

Sophomore Taylor Parrish recorded 10 kills, while junior Amanda Cloyd led the defensive efforts with 22 digs.

In Game 1, the Hokies were down 27-18 before a vigorous comeback led to a 9-2 run by Tech, before eventually falling 30-27 to the Sun Devils.

Tech took an early 9-4 lead in Game 2 before eventually succeeding to a 17-17 tie, and then dropping the game 30-28.

The Sun Devils broke open a close Game 3 by taking on an 8-2 run to make the score 25-19. Arizona State held off the Hokies late run to win the game and match 30-27.

The Hokies return to action next weekend as they host the Hokie Fall Invite. Featured in the tournament will be Appalachian St., George Washington and Liberty. Tournament play will be kicked off as the Hokies take on George Washington at 7 p.m. in Cassell Coliseum on Friday, Sept. 9.
