Offensively, freshman Felicia Willoughby and sophomore Michelle Lang each hit .500. Willoughby landed nine kills and Lang landed five, with no errors, and dished out 31 assists.

Junior Kristen Cunningham blocked eight attacks, while senior Jen Albrecht stopped five.

For NC State, Ashley Wallace landed 11 kills and Alex Smith handed out 22 assists.

The Hokies used back-to-back kills from Munoz to jump ahead 5-2 early in the opening frame and never looked back. Tech extended its lead to five at 20-15, forcing a Wolfpack timeout. The Hokies then strung together seven-straight points out of the intermission to lead by 11 at 27-16, and cruised to a 30-20 game one win.

The beginning of game two was neck-in-neck as neither team held more than a two-point advantage before the Hokies used a four-point run to pull ahead four at 19-15, forcing a NC State timeout. The Wolfpack responded with four straight points to knot the score at 23 all. Albrecht landed a kill out of a Tech timeout, before teaming with Cunningham for a second straight Tech point, putting the Hokies up 25-23, and Tech never looked back as they closed out the second frame with a 30-26 win.

Despite being down 1-5 early in game three, the Hokies used a 6-2 run to even the score at 7-7. Tech extended its lead to 22-14 and closed out the game on a six-point run for a 30-19 win.

The Hokies (13-14, 7-10) will return to action tomorrow, Sat., Nov. 10 at North Carolina. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
