The 89 points scored by Virginia Tech was a season-high mark for the Hokies. The previous season high was 85 points versus Pittsburgh on Feb. 28. The 89 points was also the most ever for Tech in an NCAA tournament game and the most points scored since a 92-53 win over West Virginia in 2001.
Tech's 49 second-half points tied the season high for points in a half that was set in the second half against Boston College on Jan. 24.
With the win, Tech is now 6-1 in NCAA tournament first-round games, and boasts a six-game winning streak in the first round of the tournament.
Tech's seven three-point baskets marked a season high for the Hokies. The previous season high was five, set against Furman and Iowa State.
The Hokies notched 11 team blocks, tying the season high set against Pittsburgh on Feb. 28.
Ieva Kublina's season-high 26 points marked the 20th time she has scored 20 or more points in her career.
Kublina, Tech's all -time leader in career blocks, had four blocks to give her 255 for her career. It marked the 45th time she has blocked three or more shots in a game in her career.
Kerri Gardin's 16 points were a career high. Her previous high was 15 points against Villanova on Jan. 7, 2003.
Dawn Chriss notched seven assists, tying her career high set against Washington State on Nov. 30, 2002.
