Women's Basketball Falls To Lady Seminoles, 77-57
Hokies return to action at home Thursday against #15 Virginia.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State used a hot shooting-hand and strong rebounding to defeat Virginia Tech 77-57 in the championship game of the Tallahassee Democrat Classic. The win marked the first time the Lady Seminoles have won their own tournament.

Florida State (3-1) outrebounded Tech (3-1) on the offensive boards 11-5 and had 15 second-chance points in the victory. The Lady Seminoles shot 51.9% (27-52) from the field while the Hokies shot 45.7% (21-46) but suffered 19 turnovers. Tech was led by Tere Williams with 16 points while Sarah Hicks and Amy Wetzel contributed 10 points each. Williams and Hicks were named to the All-tournament team.

Florida State was led by tournament MVP April Traylor with 21 points followed by Brooke Wyckoff with 13 points.

Virginia Tech will host #15 Virginia Thursday night at 7 p.m.
