BLACKSBURG, Va. — The Virginia Tech women’s basketball team will host its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game tonight when the Hokies take on North Carolina State at 7 p.m. This game also falls within the 2011 WBCA Pink Zone (February 11-20, 2011), a program initiated in part by the late Kay Yow, former NC State head women’s basketball coach, to raise breast cancer awareness through women’s basketball, on campuses and in communities.
As a show of commitment to this cause, the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team is wearing pink and white uniforms for each home game throughout the month of February, including tonight’s game versus NC State.
All fans wearing pink to the game tonight will be admitted for free. The first 1,000 fans will receive pink VT hats, courtesy of New Tech Fitness. There will also be a free post-game yoga clinic for all fans, courtesy of In Balance Yoga.
