BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech head women’s basketball coach Dennis Wolff announces the signing of Taijah Campbell to a national letter of intent for the 2012-13 academic year. She joins three student-athletes that signed in the fall.
“We are very happy to welcome Taijah to the Virginia Tech family,” Wolff says. “She is an athletic forward with very good defensive instincts. She joined Alex Kiss-Rusk [fall signee] on the Canadian team for the Pan-Am games this year and is someone who has been involved in the Canadian national program.”
The 6-3 forward was a member of the Canadian National Team for the 2011 Pan-Am Games. She has also been a member of the U18 Canadian National Team and was a National Champion with U17 Team Ontario. In addition, she participated in the All-Canada Classic.
Campbell is a three-star recruit named by ESPN HoopGurlz and played for Pickering High School where she helped her team to the Lake Ontario Secondary Schools Association Championship for three seasons (2009-11). In 2011, Campbell earned defensive honors and was named a league All-Star.
She joins Alex Kiss-Rusk, Alexis Loyd and Lauren Evans who all signed in the fall.
