    Young defers enrollment until Spring
Women's basketball signee Hannah Young will join team for spring semester

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech head women’s basketball coach Dennis Wolff announces that Hannah Young will defer her enrollment at Virginia Tech until the Spring 2013 semester. Young signed a national letter of intent to play for the Hokies in May 2012.

“We look forward to welcoming Hannah to the team once the first semester ends,” said Wolff.

Young is a 6-1 wing from Newcastle, Australia where she attended St. Francis Xavier College High School. From 2006-12 she was a New South Wales State representative and earned the U20s Silver and Bronze Medal in 2011 and 2012, respectively. She averaged 9.6 points, 10 rebounds and two steals during the 2012 campaign. Young was also a member of the Newcastle Representative team (2006-12) and was a three-time recipient of the Most Valuable Player Award while playing on the U16 and U18 squads.
