The Virginia Tech women's soccer team kicks off its 2012 season this weekend hosting its sixth-annual home tournament. The 2012 Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational begins Friday with a 5 p.m., matchup between Richmond and Wake Forest, before the Hokies hit the field at 7:30 p.m., against UNC Wilmington. Tech faces Richmond Sunday at 2:30 p.m., in the final game of the tournament.

The Tech men's soccer team plays two exhibition matches on the road this week beginning with a matchup tonight at Liberty at 7 p.m. The Hokies conclude the remainder of their preseason schedule Saturday night as the squad travels to William & Mary for a 7 p.m., kickoff.

The Virginia Tech football team will take the field in Lane Stadium Saturday afternoon for the first of two preseason scrimmages open to the public. Practice will begin at 4 p.m., and the scrimmage will get underway around 4:45 p.m. Fans can sit in the West Side stands and enter only through Gates 4 and 5.
