The Hokies open their home slate on Friday, Aug. 31, at 7 p.m., against Towson as part of the first day of action at the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational in Cassell Coliseum. Tech will play Harvard at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, before concluding the tournament against Middle Tennessee State at 7 p.m., that evening.

After closing out the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational with a 1-0 win over Richmond last Sunday, Tech will compete this weekend in the Fairfield Inn by Marriott Invitational hosted by James Madison University. The Hokies will take on Temple on Friday at 5 p.m., before ending the weekend against St. Bonaventure on Sunday at noon in Harrisonburg, Va.

The Virginia Tech cross country team opens up the season Friday as the Hokies host the VT Alumni Invitational at the Tech Cross Country Course. The women's 4k race is slated to start at 6 p.m., with the men's 6k to follow at 6:45 p.m.

The Virginia Tech women's soccer team looks to continue its undefeated streak this weekend, as it returns home Friday night with a matchup against Mount St. Mary's at 7 p.m. On Sunday, the Hokies travel to our nation's capital to face American at 1 p.m.

The Hokies open the season Monday night at 8 p.m., when they host Georgia Tech at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field on a special Monday night ESPN Labor Day broadcast. All fans are encouraged to wear their Orange Effect shirts.
