The Hokies hit the court for their third straight weekend tourney Friday at 4:30 p.m., vs. Loyola Marymount at High Point, N.C. Tech has two games Saturday - at 1 p.m., vs. George Mason and at 7 p.m., against the host Panthers - to wrap up the High Point University Classic.

The Hokies head to their closest ACC neighbor, Wake Forest, this weekend but will play a pair of non-conference matches. Tech faces Illinois at 5 p.m., Friday, and takes on Massachusetts at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The Hokies kick off conference play in the always-tough ACC with a Saturday night matchup at UNC in Chapel Hill at 7 p.m. Last season, Tech knocked off the No.1-ranked Tar Heels in an overtime thriller in Blacksburg.

Virginia Tech opens the fall portion of the men's tennis season Sept. 7-10 at the Southern Intercollegiate in Athens, Ga. This annual tournament hosted by the University of Georgia features many of the top teams in the Southeast.
