Thirteenth-ranked Virginia Tech hits the road for the first time this season to play at Pittsburgh Saturday (Noon, ESPNU). The Hokies and Panthers were conference foes in the BIG EAST from 1993 to 2003, and will be again when Pitt begins play in the ACC next season.

The women's tennis team will kick off the fall season this weekend as the squad will split up and head to Liberty and Elon for matches Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The men travel to Cary, N.C., to compete in the Duke Fab Four Invitational, Sept. 14-16.

The 3-2 Hokies host their ACC home opener under the lights at Thompson Field Friday night as they take on Boston College at 7 p.m.

The Virginia Tech volleyball team is set to open its ACC season at the University of Virginia Friday night at 7 p.m. The Hokies also face Liberty in Charlottesville at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The Hokie cross country teams take to their home course for the second time this season at the Virginia Tech Invitational beginning at 6 p.m., Friday.

The Hokie softball team will play four of its eight fall exhibition games this weekend at Tech Softball Park. On Saturday, Tech will play UNCG at 2 p.m., and West Virginia Wesleyan at 4 p.m., before playing a doubleheader Sunday against Wesleyan beginning at 1 p.m.
