Hokies shine bright in two wins

The Hokies won a pair of games on the week, defeating NC Central 80-44 before downing Western Carolina 79-58 on Sunday. In the game against the Eagles, freshman Rachel Camp tied the single-game freshman scoring record with 29 points. She led three Hokies in double-digits as sophomore Samantha Hill dropped in a career-high 15 points and Hannah Young added 10. Camp followed up with a 33-point performance against the Catamounts, setting a new Tech single-game freshman record. Vanessa Panousis added a career-high tying 24 points. It was the first time since 1986 that the Hokies have had one player score more than 30 while another topped the 20-point mark in the same game.
