Justus Qualifies For NCAAs
Senior advances to title match at EWLs

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Senior Scott Justus of the Virginia Tech wrestling team qualified for his fourth NCAA Championship Sunday when he advanced to the finals of the 184-pound weight class at the 2003 Eastern Wrestling League Championship. Justus pinned Lock Haven's Mike Greenberg at the 5:07 mark and will face top-seeded Gerald Harris of Cleveland State later Sunday in the finals.
At 149 pounds, Reed Carpenter lost to Justin Giovinco of Pittsburgh, 8-0, in the quarterfinals. He is still alive in the consolation bracket and will take on Ron Dopplehauer of Edinboro.
At 157 pounds, Chris Stith lost to Matt Lebe of West Virginia, 6-3, and will take on Eric Ring of Edinboro in the consolation bracket.
Other Hokies still alive are: Mike Cox at 165 pounds, who beat Jason Effner of CSU, 3-2; Steve Borja at 174 pounds, who beat David Gardner of Clarion, 13-6; and Shaun Guttridge at 197 pounds, who received a bye.
The top three finishers in each weight class, plus eight wildcards, qualify for the NCAAs. The finals will be held later Sunday night.
