Signing Class Among Nation's Best
Hokies' class ranked 20th in country

BLACKSBURG - The 2002 Virginia Tech wrestling class has been ranked 20th in the nation by InterMat Wrestling, as released Thursday by the Web site. The Hokies are the second-best among Eastern Wrestling League schools. Edinboro's class is ranked 12th in the nation.
Head coach Keith Mourlam will bring in five student-athletes to compete in the 2002-03 season. In the late-signing period, Mourlam inked Steve Borja to a grant-in-aid. Borja wrestled at Garden Spot High School for his father, Steve. In high school, Borja posted a 113-22 career record with 68 falls. This past season, he wrestled at 171 pounds. In his career, he won a Pennsylvania state championship, finished second in the state and won two district titles. He also boasts a GPA of 3.75.
Borja was recently named a high school All-American by Wrestling USA Magazine. He earned honorable mention honors for the state of Pennsylvania.
He joins four other wrestlers - All-American Andrew Donofrio from Oxford, Pa., Kyle Graham from Stafford, Va., Tyde Prater from Grundy, Va., and Chris Stith from Virginia Beach, Va. - who signed in the early period.
Oklahoma State's incoming class was ranked No. 1 in the nation, followed by Michigan, Oklahoma, Iowa State and Arizona State.
