GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Virginia Tech wrestling team completed the 2005 Southern Scuffle with senior Steve Borja leading the way. Borja, who will likely redshirt this year, placed second at 184 pounds. As a team, the Hokies finished in 17^th place with 38.0 points, but half of Tech's wrestlers competed unattached, so their points did not count.

Justin Staylor (125), David Hoffman (141), Jay Borschel (184) and Mike Faust (285) each placed in the top eight to highlight the Hokies' two-day effort. Faust, a senior, placed third at heavyweight. Borschel, a freshman who is redshirting, finished fifth while Staylor placed seventh and Hoffman finished eighth.
