Six Hokies Named 2000 National Strength And Conditioning Association All-American Athletes

    BLACKSBURG, Va. - Virginia Tech athletics picked up six more All-American honors as the 2000 National Strength and Conditioning Association All-Americans were named recently. Among those nominated were football standout John Engelberger and men's basketball forward André Ray.

    Tech's other selections were Allison Suggs of women's volleyball, Eddie Boes from men's track and field, Kerry Guenther of women's soccer and from men's swimming and diving, John Frost.

    The award honors male and female athletes who have excelled in their strength training and conditioning. The selections also consider leadership qualities, academic performance and community involvement.

    The award program is now in its 17th year and is supported by Knoxville, Tennessee's Power Systems, Inc.
