Match will be played Saturday on Moseley Field
    August 23, 2002

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech women's soccer team will host George Mason in a preseason exhibition on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 3 p.m. After one week of preseason training, the exhibition will serve as a dress rehearsal for the Hokies' 2002 season opener at No. 7 ranked Notre Dame on Sunday, Sept. 1.

With only two seniors on the roster- Krista Dooley and Courtney Graybill - Tech will rely on the rapid development of the team's young, talented players. The young Hokie squad will be challenged by a 2002 schedule featuring three nationally-ranked programs - No. 7 Notre Dame, No. 10 Florida State and No. 17 West Virginia - according to the Soccer Buzz Magazine preseason poll.

Tech starts the season with seven straight road matches before its home opener against Liberty on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
