Women's Soccer Falls To Seton Hall
Hokies drop second straight 3-2 decision

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech women's soccer team fell to Seton Hall, 3-2, Sunday at the Johnson/Miller Soccer Complex.

Seton Hall mid-fielder Frauke Dittel scored the go-ahead goal at the 66:47 mark to put the Pirates in front for good. Dittel also contributed an assist on the opening goal of the match scored by Nattalie Smith.

Freshmen Meghan Foy (Mechanicsville, Va.) and Emily Barnhart (Columbus, Ohio) scored the two Virginia Tech goals. Foy's goal came at the 28:07 mark and tied the game at one. Another freshman, Katie Wilson (Newport News, Va.) assisted on the goal. Barnhart put the Hokies ahead 2-1 at the 50:13 mark when she scored on an unassisted shot from 25-yards out.

Just over a minute later, Seton Hall's Brigid Sullivan tied the game up when she scored an unassisted goal at the 51:26 mark.

Tech totaled 12 shots, two corner kicks, and 11 fouls. Katie Hancock (Stockton, Md.) was impressive in goal for the Hokies, posting nine saves in the match.

The loss puts Tech at 0-2 for the season. The Hokies will be back in action Friday when they host Liberty at 5 p.m.
