Sarfo-Kantaka Scores Two Goals to Lift Hokies

HARRISONBURG, Va. - Tech junior Victoria Sarfo-Kantanka (Glen Allen, Va.) scored a goal in each half to lead the Hokies to a 2-0 win over 2-3 Loyola. The win came in the second round of the James Madison/Sheraton Four Points Hotel Invitational Tournament Sunday afternoon.

Sarfo-Kantanka's first goal came in the 20th minute of play when she collected a rebound of her own shot and beat Loyola goalkeeper Kim Walter.

In the second half Sarfo-Kantanka hit a 10-yard shot past Walter to put the Hokies up 2-0 for good.

Tech goalkeeper Shannon Janko had five saves in her first shutout at Virginia Tech.

The win puts the Hokies at 3-4 on the year and they play host to West Virginia Wednesday
