Hokies Blank Towson At Radford Tourney
Women's soccer records first shutout of the season in 3-0 win.

RADFORD, Va. -- Virginia Tech dominated the second half as it defeated Towson, 3-0, in women's soccer action on Sunday afternoon at the Dedmon Center Stadium.

The Hokies' Joy Nsubuga netted the only goal in the first half at the 19:26 mark off an assist from Aimee Stonack (Allenwood, N.J.). Tech failed to score in the second half until the 70:56 mark when Kristine Kibble (Manassas, Va.) netted the second goal of the night off an assist from Lauren Jarecki (Morristown, N.J.).

Sophomore Carmen Chestnut (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) put the game away with 1:34 remaining in the second half when she netted Tech's final goal.

The Hokies totaled 14 shots, two corner kicks, 19 fouls and three saves. Towson tallied nine shots, two corner kicks, 15 fouls and five saves.

Tech will return to action at George Washington on September 26. Kick off is set for 1 p.m.
