The Virginia Tech women's soccer team (3-4-2) fell to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (7-3) Sunday afternoon by a score of 1-0. Erica Schubert's goal in the fifth minute of play was enough to lift Rutgers to victory.

The goal was scored when Schubert crossed a ball from the far corner and deflected off of a Hokie defender and into the goal.

Goalkeeper Katie Hancock (Stockton, Md.) had another strong performance in goal for Tech. Hancock collected nine saves on 19 Scarlet Knight shots. Rutgers out shot the Hokies 19-2.

The Hokies are back in action Friday when they host the Wildcats from Davidson. The match is set for a 3:30 p.m. start time.
