Women's Soccer Wins Second In a Row
    Holdsworth scores two in 4-0 win over Howard

    The Virginia Tech women's soccer team defeated the Howard Bisons by a score of 4-0 Thursday night in Washington, D.C.

    After playing a scoreless half of soccer the Hokies exploded for four second half goals. Kathy Holdsworth (Orange Park, Fla.) led the way for Tech with two goals. Holdsworth opened the scoring on the night when she knocked in a shot at the 54:24 mark. There was no assist on the goal.

    The scoring continued for Tech when Kim Wyckoff (Springfield, Va.) put the Hokies up 2-0 with her goal at the 72:01 mark. No assist was credited on the goal. Tech would not stop there as they would go on the score another goal just over two-minutes later. Holdsworth put in her second goal of the night at the 74:33 mark with Wyckoff getting credite for the assist.

    Tech would add one more score before the final buzzer sounded. Courtney Graybill (Macungie, Pa.) scored her first goal of the year at the 85:07 mark to put the Hokies up by a final score of 4-0.

    Goalkeeper Katie Hancock (Stockton, Md.) was once again strong in net for Tech. She grabbed five saves on five Howard shots and collected her fifth shuout of the season. Tamika Anoia also played the entire match in goal for the Bisons, collecting five saves on 13 Hokie shots.

    The win improves the Hokies' record to 8-7-3 overall and drops Howard to 8-6 on the year. Tech is back in action Sunday when it travels to Syracuse, N.Y. to take on the Orangemen. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
