Women's Soccer Succumbs To North Carolina State, 2-1
Nsubuga posts only goal for Hokies.

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Virginia Tech women's soccer team fell to North Carolina State, 2-1, Wednesday at Tech Soccer Field.

Joy Nsubuga (Hollysprings, N.C.) opened the match with a goal for the Hokies at the 18:14 mark. Emily Bielefeld tallied an assist on the goal.

N.C. State would retaliate at the 19:13 mark with a goal by Kelly Blaggie. N.C. State would strike again at the 29:01 mark with a goal from Shannon Tulley.

Tech goalkeeper Karen Crawley spent 45 minutes in goal with two saves and two goals allowed. Catherine Fulkerson finished the final 4 5 minutes in goal with four saves.

Tech totaled 21 shots, three corner kicks and nine saves. N.C. State tallied 16 shots, five corner kicks and nine fouls.

With the loss, the Hokies fall to 6-4 on the season. Tech will return to action Friday, Oct. 8 when it will face Rhode Island at Tech Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
